# Welcome to National Robotics League!

Welcome to the **National Robotics League (NRL) community**!

This forum is a place for robotics teams, students, mentors, builders, and enthusiasts to **ask questions, share ideas, discuss projects, and connect with the robotics community.**

Before participating, please take a minute to read the guidelines below.

## IMPORTANT: Username Requirement

**Your username must include your official team number.**

Please use the following format:

> **yourname\_teamnumber**

For example:

> `xyz_000`

or

> `rahul_123`

Your **team number must be included in your username** so that we can identify the team you represent.

### Why is this required?

NRL is a robotics community connected to participating teams and competitors. Having the team number in your username helps us:

- Identify participating teams and members
- Keep the community organized
- Reduce fake or impersonating accounts
- Make it easier for teams to find each other
- Maintain a safer and more accountable community

### Accounts without a valid team number

Accounts that **do not follow the required username format may be contacted by the NRL moderation team and asked to update their username.**

Accounts that fail to comply may be **removed from the community**.

If you are having trouble choosing or changing your username, please contact the moderators before creating another account.

## Community Guidelines

### 1. Be respectful

Treat other teams, students, mentors, volunteers, and community members with respect.

Disagreement is completely fine. **Personal attacks are not.**

### 2. Keep your language appropriate

Please keep discussions professional and suitable for a student and education-focused robotics community.

Do not use:

- Abusive or excessively offensive language
- Harassment or personal attacks
- Hate speech or discriminatory language
- Sexual or inappropriate content
- Threats or intimidation

### 3. No spam

Please don’t flood the forum with repeated posts, advertisements, irrelevant links, or promotional content.

If you are sharing something, make sure it is relevant to the discussion.

### 4. Post in the right category

🟩 **General**  
Introductions, team discussions, community conversations and general questions.

🟧 **Competition (Non Technical)**  
Competition rules, match information, submissions, scoring, events and other non-technical competition questions.

🟦 **Electronics**  
Sensors, wiring, controllers, power systems, circuits and electronics troubleshooting.

🟪 **Mechanical**  
Robot design, CAD, mechanisms, fabrication, drivetrains and mechanical troubleshooting.

🟣 **Programming**  
Programming, autonomous routines, debugging, control algorithms and software questions.

### 5. Search before posting

Before creating a new topic, use the search bar to see whether your question has already been discussed.

This helps keep the forum organized and makes useful answers easier to find.

### 6. Protect personal information

Do not publicly share sensitive personal information such as:

- Phone numbers
- Home addresses
- Passwords
- Private account credentials
- Personal documents

If you need help with something involving private information, contact the moderation team.

### 7. Respect other teams

Healthy competition is encouraged. Disrespecting, mocking, impersonating, or deliberately disrupting another team is not.

Share knowledge. Help each other improve. 🤖
